PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Sonpur is one of the natable school run by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, New Delhi an autonomous organization of Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. It caters the educational need of the students of this locality up to the senior secondary level with Science stream. Although it is a civil sector Vidyalaya, large number of students belong to Railway and other Central and State Government organizations. The Vidyalaya is located in sonpur, a place of great cultural-historical importance. Sonpur is located on Bank River Gandak, tributary of Holy River Ganges. It lies in Saran district in state of Bihar. Sonpur is famous for Hariharnath Temple situated on the bank of Gandak and Ganga called sangam, and Sonpur cattle fair which is considered as largest fair in Asia.
